Lorena Guo is a final-year Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (Honours) student at the University of Otago. Her research focuses on oxidative stress and healthy ageing, investigating plasma protein carbonyls as biomarkers of ageing in participants from the Dunedin Multidisciplinary Health and Development Study. Alongside her research, she is completing clinical placement training in Chemical Pathology at Canterbury Health Laboratories, where she has gained experience in clinical laboratory testing and quality assurance.
